Rooftop Film Club and British Airways partner up in pop-up cinema experience

British Airways has joined forces with the Rooftop Film Club to bring pop-up movie theatres on the rooftops of London this summer.

They will be located on top of the Bussey Building in Peckham Rye and the Queen of Hoxton in Shoredtich and from 1 May to 30 September, the event will allow film connoissurs to take in over 170 classics, as diverse as; Anchorman 2 (a classic already?), Reservoir Dogs and Labyrinth from the comfort of their own chair.

For its part, BA will supply cabin crew to welcome cinema-goers and show them to their seats whilst the airlines own chef, Simon Hulstone, has created his own custom popcorn for participants to snack on.

Rooftop Film Club founder Gerry Cottle, said: “Our big screen, high quality wireless headphones and comfy chairs mean you can sit back, relax and experience film like never before. (Unless, of course, you have watched a film at a cinema with a big screen, good sound system and comfy chairs -ed.)

“The luxury of being able to watch films under the stars in a completely unique urban environment, appeals to our loyal fan base who love its exclusivity.”
